“Officials working with FEMA on project inspections” by: Mike Reddell

   FEMA officials and engineers were meeting with city, school and county officials this week to go over public works projects throughout Matagorda County proposed for disaster relief funding from the federal agency.
   The projects include buildings, schools, city streets and county roads damaged from Hurricane Harvey’s heavy flooding, said County Emergency Management Coordinator Doug Matthes.
   This is all part of the disaster summaries detailing the losses that each storm-affected county sends to the state sends for possible FEMA funding.
   If a FEMA official isn’t qualified to inspect each project, an engineer will accompany them, Matthes explained.
